Is Bigger Really Better in the Laptop Screen?

Over and over, in advertising and in the media generally, we hear that “bigger is better.” We hear this mantra when people are speaking of everything from bra sizes to the size of a laptop screen. “Bigger is better, bigger is better, bigger is better.”

In recent times various versions of the laptop screen have indeed become substantially larger. And, following in the wake of the increase in the size of many varieties of the laptop screen is that familiar phrase, “Come on, bigger is better.”

But, when it comes to a consideration of the laptop screen, perhaps it is wise to stop for a moment and consider whether or not if bigger really is better. “Is a bigger laptop screen really a better product?”

On some level, a bigger laptop screen can be a swell accoutrement. A larger screen can make the use of a laptop more interesting and colorful. A large laptop screen certainly can make “seeing things” on a person’s laptop far easier.

On the other hand, every time a laptop screen grows, the unit becomes less portable. And, when all is said and done, the reason people own laptops for the most part is to have a portable personal computing unit. People most often by laptops so that they are able to go from place to place and take their portable personal computer along with them.

With ever growing versions of the laptop screen, some versions of the “portable” personal computer have become harder to lug around from place to place. If this trend carries on much further, the whole purpose behind a laptop computer may very well be defeated by an unusually large laptop screen that renders movement less practical.

When considering a laptop screen, in the end bigger may not always be better.
