A Look at What’s on at the USA Network
The USA Network has become one of the more widely watched cable television networks in the United States and in some other nations. USA Network programming is watched by millions of people daily.
One of the major USA Network success stories is the comedy and detective series called “Monk.” “Monk” originally was developed by the USA Network. The ABC television network picked up “Monk” a couple of seasons ago. ABC is owned by the Disney Company, a corporation not know for solid decision making in recent years.
In reality, picking up “Monk” was a good move by ABC. But, the network ended up dumping “Monk” after a couple of broadcasts. The USA Network put “Monk” on its line-up and gained an immediate, profitable audience. ABC wanted back into the game and paid a hefty price to air “Monk” on its broadcast network.
Now, both ABC and the USA Network air current episodes of “Monk” during the same week.
USA Network is also home to the popular “Law and Order” franchise. Currently the USA Network airs two different “Law and Order” programs each week. The original “Law and Order” is broadcast on USA Network as is “Special Victims Unit” or “SVU.”
USA Network presents both episodes from the current season of these popular crime dramas as well as re-runs from season’s past.
USA Network also produces its own movies, some of which are actually debuting in theater houses around the world. In addition, USA Network presents a number of first run movies on its network each year.
The USA Network likely will continue to attract new viewers each year. The USA Network has solid management and a seemingly perfect programming formula. Further, USA Network has slated new programming to be introduced in the next couple of seasons.
