One wonders how Ebenezer Scrooge would act and react in the computer age. One wonders if Scrooge would even allow himself to enter the computer age. It is easy to imagine that rather than by any sort of high-tech equipment, Scrooge would stick to the abacus in order to do his business ciphering.
If Scrooge did decide to journey into modernity, it is clear that he would buy the cheapest laptop on the market. And therein would lie a significant problem.
While no one should be faulted for following a strict budget, buying the cheapest laptop on the market may not have the desired effect of saving money in the long run. In many instances, the cheapest laptop available at any given moment may not be an ideal machine whatsoever.
First of all, when really trying to make a wise decision regarding purchasing a laptop computer a person needs to look beyond the price tag. A person needs to look at precisely what he or she is getting for a given price.
Secondly, the cheapest computer on the market likely has little to no technical support. As anyone who has had a problem or a question about computer functioning, technical support can be very important if not actually vital.
Finally, the cheapest laptop on the market likely will not survive for long. Indeed, the unit very well may wear out - if you will - long before it has paid for its cheap self.
The cheapest laptop available may end up being worse than cheap. Indeed, the cheapest laptop may end up being a worthless investment in the long haul - if not even in the short term.
